3 Tips for Hosting an Outdoor Wedding

Spring is almost here, and you know what that means, right? Summer is right around the corner! Prepare for a truckload of summer weddings, backyard barbecues, pool parties and lots, lots more!

The only thing that might put a halt to this is COVID-19, but we’re all hoping for the best. If things play out in our favor, the virus will be no more by the time summer is upon us (fingers crossed!).

So, don’t worry about the pandemic for now; focus on your wedding. Even if you can’t have your wedding now, you’ll still have it in the near future. But have you started making plans? If you haven’t, you best get to it right now, and LR Entertainment is here to help you out.

But before we get to that, you have to decide on what kind of wedding it will be. Might we recommend an outdoor wedding? It’s great for this time of year and the tips below should give you an idea of how to go about doing it.

  • One Beverage Station Just Isn’t Enough

Summer heats everything up, and that includes your guests. You can bank on the temperature being hot so you’ll need to keep your guests hydrated. Doing otherwise means cranky guests, and no wants that at their wedding.

What’s the solution? Make sure you have more than a single water station for water and other beverages. And always keep it open too, so wedding guests can have easy access to it.

  • When the Sun Goes Down, Your Venue will Look very Different

The sun won’t shine forever so if your wedding is in the late afternoon and will most likely continue into the night, you’ll need light to keep the event alive.

Once it’s night and you don’t have any light at all, the party’s over. Conversely, night opens up a new opportunity for you. That’s the best time to transit into something that can be contained in a single area. You know, like dancing! That way, the brightest light will be focused on one spot-where the dancing is.

  • Pay Attention to Your Menu and Plan it Properly

Everyone loves food but the heat doesn’t love all kinds of food. Simply put, not all food sounds appetizing when the air is hot, and certainly not all food tastes good in the heat.

It’s best if you plan a fresh, light menu that will satiate your guests but won’t make them feel ‘heavy’. And don’t forget to choose foods that can withstand the heat. If you choose anything that melts, prepare to have sticky tables and disgruntled guests!

With all that out of the way, music and entertainment should be the next things on your list to tick off. So, what are you waiting for? LR Entertainment is ready to rock your wedding until tired feet can’t dance anymore!
